Wish List Wednesday

Wish List Wednesday is a new series that I will be starting. Once a month on Wednesdays, I will be posting a post about items I really, really want to buy and possibly plan on buying later in the month. This month I have 7 fashion and beauty items to share with you.
Wish List Wednesday
Combat Boots
I know I am a little late on the bandwagon, but I do not own a pair of combat boots. I cant seem to find the perfect pair. Most of the boots I have tried on are either too wide at the top or just do not look right on me. This month I am on a quest to find the perfect pair of combat boots.

Yin Yang Crop Top
This may be a random item, but I have been eyeing this yin yang crop top. The one I like is from etsy. I believe it is $24 or $25 and the seller is MINGAlondon. The seller has good reviews, so I may be making an order on etsy in the next few days.

Black Skater Skirt
Is it sad that I only own one skater skirt and I just bought it last weekend? The one I bought was navy and I got it at Rue21. I had planned on buying the black, but they didn't have it in my size. I plan on going back there in a week or so to see if they have any more in stock.

Mint Peplum Top
I am more than ready for spring and I am in desperate need of spring clothes. This top is so cute and it is the perfect color for spring!

Statement Necklace
I don't own a lot of jewelry, but lately I have been loving necklaces. A statement necklace is the perfect addition to any outfit.  I have a feeling that I will be buying a few of these this month.

Naked 3
I am probably the only person in the world who has not bought Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette (I may be exaggerating a little). It is such a girly palette with all of the pink toned shades and I LOVE it! It is just so darn expensive. I can hardly bring myself to buy any makeup that costs over $30 and even then it is rare. However, I think I have waited long enough and it is about time I buy this palette.

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette
The shades in this palette are neutral and they look so nice! I have not heard a single bad thing about this palette. If I buy this palette I will not be buying the Naked 3 and vice versa.

I hope you liked this post and tell me in the comments what your wish list is for this month!

How to use Coconut Oil

Coconut oil isn't just for cooking. It has many benefits for your skin and hair. I have recently started using coconut oil and I can't believe I didn't start using it sooner.

Coconut oil is good to remove your makeup. I like to use it to remove my makeup when I'm only wearing concealer under my eyes and powder. I haven't tested it out on waterproof mascara so I'm not sure how well it would work. If you have tried it on waterproof items, did it work well for you?

Coconut oil is also good to moisturize your skin. After I go through my skin cre routine I apply this to the dry areas on my face. I always make sure to wash it off because it tends to clog pores.

Coconut oil helps to prevent wrinkles. I like to use it as an eye cream. It makes my under eye area feel so moisturized and great! I don't think I have been using it long enough to be able tell a difference. I will post an update in a month or so letting you all know if it has.

I have very dry, chapped lips and I have never found a Chapstick that has completely healed my lips. If I could only use coconut oil for one thing it would be for my lips. I have noticed a huge difference in them. They aren't as dry and they seem to be healing up.

I use coconut oil two different ways on my hair. Once a month, I rub coconut oil all over my hair. The I put a shower cap on it and leave it for two hours. After two hours I rinse it out and continue with my normal shampoo and conditioner. The second way to use coconut oil for hair is to smooth down fly aways. Make sure not to use too much because it can make your hair very oily.

I I hope you enjoyed this post and check back Wednesday for a new post!

February Favorites (Books, Songs, Food, etc.)

As I said in my other Favorites post I will be doing two monthly favorites blog posts from now on. One will be my beauty related favorites and the other will be random, non-beauty related things. This post is all about my non-beauty related favorites for the month of February.

My song favorite of the month is John Legends All of Me. It is such a good song. I have had it on repeat for the past few weeks. If you have not heard this song you should go buy it in iTunes because it is AMAZING!

The tv show that I have been loving this month is the new CW show Star-crossed. It just premiered this month and is about these people (aliens?) called Atrians who came to Earth 10 years ago and have since been isolated in a sector. Ten years later, seven of the Atrian teens have been chosen to participate in a program that allows them to go to a high school with humans. It may sound a little weird but I promise once you start watching it you won't be able to stop!

My movie favorite of the month is Pompeii. I absolutely loved this movie. I went in to the theater thinking this movie was going to be okay, but not something I would love. I was completely wrong! I was on the edge of my seat the majority of the time. It was definitely action packed, but there was also some romance mixed in. I do not want to spoil it for anyone so that is all I am going to say about that.

My food favorite of the month is a simple recipe I have heard a lot of people talk about. It is the brownie in a cup. I didn't have very high expectations for this, but it proved to be very good! The recipe I used was from http://www.food.com/recipe/microwave-chocolate-mug-brownie-349246. This is a simple way to make a brownies if you are in a hurry and do not have a lot of time.

The blogger I have been loving this month is Nouveau Cheap. She is always on top of all the newest things. Every time I read one of her posts I feel the need to go to my local drugstore and buy more beauty items, knowing I don't need anything else! You should definitely check  out her blog if you haven't.

I have only read one new book this month. I have been in such a reading slump lately. The book I read was Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. It is the third and final book in the Shatter Me series and it was by far my favorite. I recommend reading the first two just so you can read Ignite Me. I finished it in a day. I could not put the book down. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so all I am going to say is that it was fantastic!

I hoped you enjoyed this post and if you  haven't checked out my February Beauty Favorites what are you waiting for? I will link the url to that post down below. Have you watched/tried any of the things I mentioned? If so tell me in the comments what you thought about them. I love hearing other people's opinions!

February Beauty Favorites

Another month has come and gone. Do you know what that means? It is time for my FEBRUARY FAVORITES!!! This month I have decided to do 2 blog posts on this. One will be my beauty favorites and the other will be my non-beauty related favorites. If you can tell by the title, this post is about the beauty items I have been loving for the month of February.

This month I have fallen back in love with my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in the shade Light. I would say that this concealer is medium to full coverage. It doesn't look cakey when I build it up to get my desired level of coverage. The concealer is very creamy and doesn't settle into  my fine lines. I haven't found anything that can take the place of this concealer.

The next item I have been loving is a tool. I bought the e.l.f Studio Kabuki Face Brush at the end of January and I am so glad I did! I mentioned this brush in my e.l.f. haul and said it was one of the softest brushes I have. It really is. It applies my powder beautifully and evenly. So far, I  have not had any problems with the brush hairs falling out and getting all over my face. I really just love this brush and would recommend this to anyone looking for a inexpensive, good quality kabuki brush.

This next product I am going to mention is one I have had for quite some time. It is the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer. This primer gets the job done. It makes my makeup last a few extra hours and it makes my skin smooth. I even notice a slight difference in my pores. It doesn't make them vanish, but it does make them look smaller. I do not know why I never used this much before, but I am glad I have started using it again!

I am pretty sure I have talked about this next item in a previous post. It is the Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in Translucent. I have been using this with my e.l.f Kabuki Brush and I have been loving it! It is the perfect setting powder for my foundation. This powder is good for those days when you do not want to wear any makeup but you also don't want to look shiny. The powder keeps the oil on my face at bay and I have been using it nonstop.

Eyeshadow  Quad in Chai Latte
The last beauty product I have been loving is my Maybelline Eyeshadow Quad in the shade Chai Latte. The sticker on the packaging says that it is new, but I'm not sure how true that is. The shadows so have some fallout and they aren't crazy pigmented, but that's okay with me. I really like the colors in the palette. There is a shimmery champagne shade, a shimmery copper shade, a matte light brown, and a dark brown with some glitter in it. The picture above shows swatches of all of the shadows in the quad. I am sorry that the quality of the picture isn't that great and it is kind of hard to see the champagne shade. I do like the over all look these shadows provide and they last all day with an eyeshadow primer.

I hope you liked reading about all of the products I have been loving this month. check out my other post on my non-beauty related favorites for the month of February! Feel free to tell me in the comments section below what products you have been loving this month!

Revlon Vintage Lipsticks!!!

I intended to post my skincare routine today. Unfortunately, I have had a busy day and didn't get the chance to write. Instead this will be a super short post about some new (but old) Revlon lipsticks that have been hitting the market.

Late last year Revlon announced that they would be relaunching some of their discontinued lipsticks. The five shades Revlon decided to relaunch were Icy Violet, Snow Peach, Sandstorm, Fifth Ave Red, and Jungle Peach. The colors that I am really excited about trying are Snow Peach, Fifth Ave Red, and Jungle Peach. These lipsticks have started showing up in drugstores over the past few weeks. I have not had the chance to pick any up, but that's mainly because I haven't seen them in any stores near me. I have to say I am pretty excited about these and can't wait until they are in a store near me!

Have any of you saw these in a store near you? If so, which one is your favorite?

I will be posting my skincare routine on Monday!

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Everyday Makeup

For today's post I am showing you my everyday makeup routine. I have combination skin so my forehead gets insanely oily and my nose and cheeks are extremely dry. If your skin type is similar to mine, maybe you would like to try out this simple, everyday look.

First I start out with primer. I have been trying out the Revlon PhotoReady Primer. It helps to minimize the appearance if my pores which is fantastic. The primer also helps to keep my oiliness at bay and my makeup last a while longer.
Next I use my favorite foundation of all time Makeup Forever Mat Velvet +. I am in the shade No 25 Warm Ivory. This foundation is medium to full coverage and doesn't cake.  If you have dry patches like me make sure to moisturize beforehand which you should always do even if you have oily skin.
After foundation, I apply concealer. I use the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 15. I have really bad dark circles and this helps to cover them up and make me look more awake. I always make sure to apply concealer in a triangle under my eyes. After this I know my foundation has settled in so I apply the Coty Airspun Face Loose Powder to set it. There is no particular blush I use on an everyday basis, but the one I use a lot is the Nyx blush in Rose Garden.
Next up is my eyes Just like my forehead, my eyelids are oily. This causes my eyeshadows to crease throughout the day unless I use a eyeshadow primer. I like to use my e.l.f. eyeshadow primer. Once I have applied that, I use my Naked  Basics palette. I go for a very simple, neutral eye look. I use Walk of Shame all over my lids and then use Naked 2 to define my crease. For mascara I use the Maybelline Rocket on my top lashes to give my them a lot of volume. For my bottom lashes I use the small brush from the  Maybelline Big Eyes mascara.
The harsh winter air has done nothing to help my lips so I have been applying coconut oil on them. This helps to moisturize them and get them ready for lipstick and gloss. The lipstick I have been using nonstop is the e.l.f. Essential Lipstick in Seductive. The lipgloss I have been pairing with this is the Maybelline Color Elixir in Blush Essence.
Everyday Makeup
There you have it. My everyday makeup routine. I hope you enjoyed reading this and check back Wednesday for another exciting post!

Disclaimer
While writing this post I have realized how many Maybelline products I use. I promise this is in no way sponsored. I purchased all of this with my own money.

ELF Haul/Review

A few weeks ago ELF cosmetics had 50% off of their bestsellers and new arrivals. ELF products are already so inexpensive and they have really nice products. Needless to say, I took advantage of the sale and bought a few (okay a lot) of things. In this blog I will have plenty of swatches and will be giving a mini review on each of the products. I apologize in advance for this being such a long post.

In the Nude
Essential Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in the color In the Nude I bought one of these on a whim a while ago and fell in love with it. I decided to invest in another and got this nice nude shade. These Jumbo Lip Gloss Sticks are so moisturizing and are nice if you just want a hint of color.
Essential 14-Piece Nail Cube - Limited Edition in Party I have been eyeing this for quite some time. It has a variety of colors and finishes. There are a few metallic, some glitter, and the majority of the polishes were matte. They are actually very nice and I only have to use one coat for some of the shades.
Essential Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
I actually really like this eyeliner. It is pretty black and since it is a pen I have more control over it. It is not waterproof by any means. I ran my hand through water and it came off after I barely scrubbed it. It is only a few dollars so it is a good alternative to have if you do not want to spend a lot of money on eyeliner.
Seductive
Essential Lipstick in Seductive I am in looooove with this lipstick. I have been wearing it almost everyday for the past week. It doesn't dry out my already chapped lips and it stays on for a while. What more could you ask for in a lipstick?

Studio Eyebrow Kit in Medium This is the perfect eyebrow kit. It has the wax, which you put on first. Then it also comes with powder to set the wax. I probably should have got dark but I can make medium work. I really like this kit and I will definitely be repurchasing it.
Nearly Nude
Studio Matte Lip Color in Nearly Nude
I should've thought more before I bought a matte nude lipstick. It really washes me out, but that's probably because I am so pale. I do like using it as a lip liner and then putting on whatever lipstick I am wearing that day.

Wink Pink
Studio Moisturizing Lipstick in Wink Pink This lipstick does what it says. It is very moisturizing and doesn't feather. It only lasts for a few hours, but I can overlook that little detail since it is so moisturizing.
Headliner
Studio HD Blush in Headliner
This is a cream blush that comes with a pump. The pump makes it a little difficult to control how much product comes out. With this blush a little goes a long way so unless you are really careful you will be wasting lot of product. I was not expecting this blush to be so pigmented so the first time I applied it I ended up looking like a clown. If you buy this be careful with how much you apply and don't make the same mistake I did.

Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St Lucia
I have heard that this blush/bronzer duo is a dupe for one of Nars' blushes. I don't own any of the Nars blushes so I cant say for sure. I have been wearing this blush for the past two weeks and its safe to say that I love it. It its a nice coral shade that has some shimmer to it. When applied on the cheeks it gives a very nice glow. I haven't tried the bronzer yet, but if its anything like the blush then it will be great.
Kabuki Brush
Studio Brush Shampoo There's really not much to say about this except it gets my brushes clean and it doesn't have a scent.
Studio Kabuki Face Brush This is the softest brush I have ever used. Even though it was only a few dollars I can tell that it is very well made. I know it will last me a while.
Essential Beauty Book Eye Sets There are six eyeshadow shades in this "book". They are grouped into two looks, a day look and a night look. The shadows are pretty pigmented, but they have a little fallout. This set also came with an eyeshadow primer. I already own this primer so I knew that I liked it. There was also an eyeliner included. The eyeliner was hard and when I tried to apply it on my eye I found myself having to press really hard to get it to show up. I will not be using the eyeliner again but overall I like the Beauty Book.
Studio Stipple Brush Travel Set This brush set comes with four brushes. There is a stipple brush, small stipple brush, tapered brush, and an eyeshadow brush I like using the stipple brush to apply my foundation and it doesn't seem to soak up a lot of product. I use the small stipple brush for concealer and occasionally cream blush. It blends out the product very well and helps conceal my under eyes. I only use the tapered brush around the nose area. It helps to conceal the redness and gets those small places. The eyeshadow brush is the only brush I do not like in this set. It would pick up the eyeshadow but it would barely transfer any of the shadow to my lid.
Studio Makeup Lock & Seal This is suppose to lock your eye makeup in place and make everything look more vibrant. It does exactly this. My eyeshadow doesn't crease throughout the day and I can tell a big difference when I use this.

As you can tell, ELF products are kind of a hit and miss. That's the way it is for most brands though. I still love elf and love that they offer inexpensive beauty products. I will definitely be repurchasing some of the products over once I finish them. I hope you liked this haul/review and check back Wednesday for an exciting new post!

Skincare Routine

My skin has completely freaked out this winter. It has become so dry and yet it still gets extremely oily. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that my skin type is combination. If you too have combination skin maybe you would like to try out some products that I use to help my skin look its best. Even if you don't have the same skin type as me, the products I use can still work for you.

I start off with my Cetaphil Cleanser.  I use this to help remove all of the impurities and any traces of makeup that my makeup remover wipes may not have  removed.

Then I move onto a product to help with acne. I use the Neutrogena All in One Acne Control. I have just started using this for the past few months, but so far I haven't seen any dramatic difference in my acne.

Next I use coconut oil. Coconut oil can not only be used for cooking but has many skin benefits. I use the coconut oil on my forehead, nose, and cheeks.  I always make sure to wash it all off because it can clog pores. The coconut oil always leaves my skin feeling so soft.

Last but not least, I use my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. At one point I could not even wear foundation because it would cling to my dry patches. No matter what foundation i used my skin still looked flakey. Then i discover this lotion. It has completely transformed my skin. It no longer has extremely dry patches and I can finally wear foundation again.

I'm sure when summer comes around I'm going to have to change my skincare routine again. But for now this is what I have been doing everyday. It may be simple, but it gets the job done. I hope you enjoyed this post and check back Wednesday to see my February Favorites!

What's in my Ipsy bag? February 2014

It's that time of the month again! Time to see what I got in my February Ipsy bag. If you don't know what ipsy is it is a subscription service that focuses on makeup, hair, and skincare. It costs $10 a month or you can pay for an entire year and it will be $120. Each month you will get a makeup bag filled with 4 or 5 products. They are usually deluxe size samples, but I have received quite a few full size products. If you want to see what I got this month keep reading!

Pop Beauty Lipgloss in Peony Petal
I have had very limited experience with pop beauty. I only own one thing from this brand so I was very excited to see a product from them in my bag this month. I have to say I absolutely love this lipgloss! I didn't expect it to be so moisturizing and pigmented. I can say that I will be making a trip to Ulta very soon to pick up some of the other lipgloss shades available.

IPKN New York BB Cream in light
This product has SPF 45 and is suppose to brighten, moist, and firm.  Unfortunately I don't know if it actually does this because the shade I got was way too dark for me. The tube says light but it is very dark on me. This product will be going to a friend.

City Color Matte Blush in Fresh Melon
This blush is gorgeous. It's a nice coral shade. It didn't cling to the dry patches on my cheeks and it truly is a matte blush. I see myself getting a lot of use out of this blush this spring and summer.

Eyetini Eyeshadow in Spice Rum
This is a cream shadow. It is a metallic purple color with a dough foot applicator. This is not something that I would have picked up on my own but I'm glad I got in my bag.

Zoya Nail Polish in Dot
I love most of the Zoya nail polishes. Unfortunately, this color just was not what I was expecting. It is a pastel pink and is pretty sheer. It applied very splotchy and uneven. This color will be a great color for spring if I can figure out how to apply it more evenly.

If you want to subscribe to ipsy you can use my referral code http://www.ipsy.com/r/4x53 or if you would rather not use my referral code you can go to http://www.ipsy.com

Valentine's Day Gift Guide For Her

Valentines Gift Guide

Here is a last minute gift guide for those of you who do not know what to get for the special girl in your life.

Jewelry
You cant go wrong with jewelry. I would recommend buying a statement necklace. It can take an outfit from blah to BAM! Statement necklaces give an outfit that extra oomph. Charming Charlie's and Forever 21 has some very pretty, affordable jewelry.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
This eyeshadow palette has been getting so much hype. I have yet to pick this up, but based on previous Urban Decay palettes I'm sure this one lives up to the hype. The Naked 3 palette is a very good option to give as a Valentines Day gift.

Nail Polish
For the girls that have to have their nail polish this is the perfect gift for them. There are plenty of nail polish sets out there. They can be found at ULTA and Sephora.

Nyx Butter Lipsticks
The much anticipated butter lipsticks are finally here! They come in a variety of different colors and are only $5.99! The butter lipsticks can be found at ULTA.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume
This is my all time favorite perfume. It is the perfect floral scent. I hardly wear any other perfume. Since it is such an expensive item, I would buy the rollerball just in case the girl didn't like the scent.

Purse
Every girl needs a purse. You don't have to go out and buy a $500 one. There are plenty of affordable purses at TJ Maxx and Forever 21.

Chocolate
Last but not definitely not least, chocolate. What is Valentine's Day without a little chocolate? I recommend the Lindor Truffles. They are amazing! I could eat them 24/7 but somehow I resist.

3 Valentines Day Outfits

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. If you have no idea what to wear; don't worry I am here to help. I have created three different outfits for three different types of dates. Whether you are going to a dinner and a movie or just staying in, these outfits will look great for Valentine's Day.

Classic Valentines Day Outfit
The first outfit is a classic. It is a little black dress with some black heels. Since the dress doesn't have any rhinestones or sequins on it, I threw in a cute baby pink statement necklace. I thought the heart earrings were appropriate since it will be Valentines Day. Just add a gold bracelet and a cute pink clutch and you will be ready to go.

Fancy Valentines Day OutfitThis next outfit is on the fancier side of things. It is a long, strapless maroon maxi dress. Of course with a dress like this you have to have some gold hoops and bracelets. The shoes are nude with a lot of cute cut outs. Finishing off this outfit is the simple nude colored clutch. I think this outfit would be good if you were going to a really nice restaurant and a play.

Casual Valentines Day Outfit
The last outfit is very casual. It is a pink rhinestone tank with black leggings. I didn't want to go overboard with the jewelry so I only added bow earrings and a simple silver bangle bracelet. I think the shoes are adorable. Its hard to see in the picture but they have cut outs around the ankles. This outfit is nice if your just staying in. It is still cute without looking like you didn't try.

Leave a comment telling me which outfit you like the best.

Weekend Deals and Steals 2/7-2/9

Are you ready for the weekend?! I know I am! The weekend is when a lot of stores have some kind of deal going on. January 2014 Favorites!!!

Today I am going to be sharing with you all of the things that I have been loving this month! First off, I can not believe it is already February. January went by so fast I barely had time to acknowledge that it was a brand new year! I still keep writing 2013 on everything. Second, I plan on getting my monthly favorites posted the last week of every month. As you can probably tell from the picture above it isn't all beauty products. Now that I have rambled a lot lets jump into my January Favorites.

Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi
I have this in the shade radiant. It is more of a pink toned highlighter. I find that it works well to conceal my dark circles and to brighten up my under eye area.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
This crazy weather has done nothing for my skin. My skin started became extremely dry and flaky. It was not good whatsoever. I started using the Cetaphil lotion and it has helped my skin tremendously. My skin started getting better within days of using this. After I use this, my skin feels 10 times better.

Nyx Butter Gloss and Butter Balm
I absolutely LOVE these! Tiramusu and its smells soooo good. I have been loving nude lips lately and Tiramusu is perfect to wear over top of a nude lipstick or by itself. I do have to reapply every few hours, but it is worth it. The butter glosses are so creamy and they go on the lips like butter. The butter balms are the exact same way. Mine is in panna cotta and it is very pigmented for a balm. I like to pair it with the Tiramusu butter gloss.

Real Techniques Blush Brush
This is the best brush to apply blush with. It picks up the blush color very well. I have used blush brushes before that no matter how much I swirl my brush in the blush its like it doesn't pick up any product. I don't have that problem with this brush and it is all I have been using to apply brush lately.

Marc Jacobs Daisy
This has to be my favorite perfume of all time! It smells so florally and girly. I know scents are different for everyone, but I think this could be one that everyone would enjoy.

Bath and Body Works Tis The Season Candle
I have been loving this candle. It smells like apples mixed with outdoors. It is the perfect winter candle. I can smell it before I even take off the lid.

Quakers Apple Cinnamon Rice Snacks
These are amazing. If you like apple jacks then you would love these. They taste exactly like them, but they are so much better. I could eat them all day everyday.

Amazon Kindle
I go through phases with reading. I will read constantly for months and then I will go days, weeks, or even months without reading. Then I pick up my Kindle again and think why did I ever stop? This month I have been stuck in the house a lot so I have fell back in love with reading. Ever since I got my Kindle, I hardly buy physical books. I just love my Kindle so much and I really hope I don't get into a reading slump again.

Covergirl Bombshell Review

The Covergirl Bombshell Volume Mascara claims to give 10x more noticeable lashes compared to bare lashes. This mascara is a two step process. The first side is for volume and the second side is for intensity. This isn't the first two sided mascara to hit the drugstores. Maybelline came out with the Big Eyes Mascara last summer. I do like this mascara more than the Maybelline one but is it on its way to becoming my favorite mascara?.Keep on reading if you want to find out if I think this product is worth it or not.

When I put the two mascaras side by side there was a noticeable size difference. The Covergirl Bombshell has very, very bulky packaging. It definitely isn't something I would find myself packing for a trip. This mascara is extremely hard to take off. It seems like that would be a good thing, but in this case its not. I have to rub and rub my eyes and it still seems like I'm not getting it off. . The eye area is very delicate and you don't want to have to rub your eyes until their red to get mascara off. The last negative thing is that the wand on side 1 is a little to big for me to use on my lower lashes. However, it works wonders on my top lashes.

This leads me to all the great things I have to say about the Bombshell Mascara. It really does give my lashes a lot of volume.
That is exactly what I look for in a mascara. I could care less if it lengthens as long as it gives me a ton of volume, I'm happy. I don't think that it makes my lashes look spidery or clumpy. It is definitely not cute to have clumpy lashes. The longest I have worn this mascara is around 10 hours. It didn't smudge or look any different than when I applied it that morning.

I love that the Bombshell Mascara gives me volume. However, in this particular case the cons outweigh the pros. I don't see myself repurchasing this product in the future. If you can overlook the size and  how hard it is to take off then its amazing. For me, I will stick to my Maybelline The Rocket Mascara which I think works just as well as the Covergirl Bombshell.

What I Got In My Ipsy Bag! January 2014

Today I'm going to be showing you what I got in my January ipsy bag. Ipsy is one of the many subscription boxes (bags) that are available right now. Each subscription service has a focal point. Ipsy focuses on makeup, hair, and skincare. It costs $10 a month or you can pay for an entire year and it will be $120. Each month you will get a makeup bag filled with 4 or 5 products. They are usually deluxe size samples, but I have received quite a few full size products. If you would like to see what I got in my ipsy bag keep reading!

This months bag seems to be focused on skincare. Which makes sense since it is winter and the cold air can dry out the skin. The first thing in my bag was the epice purifying exfoliator. Since it is an exfoliator, I will not be using it in my daily skincare routine. It is recommended to exfoliate once or twice a week. I only exfoliate once a week since I do have a lot of dry patches. The next product I got was the Yaby foundation in Buff. I am very pale so when I saw that the shade I got was buff I was kind of worried. However, it does seem to be a pretty good match for me.

It wouldn't be an ipsy bag if there wasn't some kind of lip product included. I got the Mica Cosmetics tinted lip balm in the shade #5 Natural. It is a pinky nude color that is almost the same shade as my
Tinted Lip Balm in Natural
lips. I think that the best nude shades are a little different from your actual lip color. The Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair deep conditioning mask was another product I got in my bag, It is formulated with avocado, sweet almond & argan oils, and rosehip oil. I have used this once and it does seem to make my hair shiny. Who knows, maybe I have found my new favorite deep condition mask? I also received a fifth product that I did not include in the photo because I already gave it away. It was four of the Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads. I knew that I would not use them so I did not see any reason to keep them.

Overall, I really liked this bag and will use most of the products that I received. If you subscribe to ipsy feel free to leave a comment telling me what you got this month. If you do not subscribe to ipsy you can use my referral code http://www.ipsy.com/r/4x53 or you can go to www.ipsy.com and sign up to receive an ipsy bag every month.

Check back Friday for my review of the Covergirl Bombshell Mascara!
