What I Got In My Ipsy Bag! January 2014

Today I'm going to be showing you what I got in my January ipsy bag. Ipsy is one of the many subscription boxes (bags) that are available right now. Each subscription service has a focal point. Ipsy focuses on makeup, hair, and skincare. It costs $10 a month or you can pay for an entire year and it will be $120. Each month you will get a makeup bag filled with 4 or 5 products. They are usually deluxe size samples, but I have received quite a few full size products. If you would like to see what I got in my ipsy bag keep reading!

This months bag seems to be focused on skincare. Which makes sense since it is winter and the cold air can dry out the skin. The first thing in my bag was the epice purifying exfoliator. Since it is an exfoliator, I will not be using it in my daily skincare routine. It is recommended to exfoliate once or twice a week. I only exfoliate once a week since I do have a lot of dry patches. The next product I got was the Yaby foundation in Buff. I am very pale so when I saw that the shade I got was buff I was kind of worried. However, it does seem to be a pretty good match for me.

It wouldn't be an ipsy bag if there wasn't some kind of lip product included. I got the Mica Cosmetics tinted lip balm in the shade #5 Natural. It is a pinky nude color that is almost the same shade as my
Tinted Lip Balm in Natural
lips. I think that the best nude shades are a little different from your actual lip color. The Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair deep conditioning mask was another product I got in my bag, It is formulated with avocado, sweet almond & argan oils, and rosehip oil. I have used this once and it does seem to make my hair shiny. Who knows, maybe I have found my new favorite deep condition mask? I also received a fifth product that I did not include in the photo because I already gave it away. It was four of the Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads. I knew that I would not use them so I did not see any reason to keep them.

Overall, I really liked this bag and will use most of the products that I received. If you subscribe to ipsy feel free to leave a comment telling me what you got this month. If you do not subscribe to ipsy you can use my referral code http://www.ipsy.com/r/4x53 or you can go to www.ipsy.com and sign up to receive an ipsy bag every month.

Review: e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

I have been using the e.l.f. mineral eyeshadow primer for two months. It is only $3.00 and can be found at the drugstore or on the e.l.f. website. The only place near me that I can get e.l.f. products is from my local Kmart.  Even then there is very little products to choose from. When I went in the store I saw that this primer was only a few dollars and I said "What the heck? Why not try it out?". I am just going to give it to you straight. I did not have high hopes for this product. I did not expect it to keep my eyeshadow on or keep it from creasing. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this eye primer. It kept my shadow on for hours and when I looked in the mirror at the end of the day my eye look looked the same as it did that morning. It did slightly crease, but keep in mind I have very oily eyelids and its hard for me to find an eye primer that doesn't crease on me. I don't find myself reaching for this product very often. I only use it when I am out of another eye primer. Overall, this primer does keep the shadow on and is very budget friendly. If you can look over the fact that it slightly creases this primer is great.

Have your tried this primer? Does it crease on you? Is there a certain eye primer that you can't live without? Leave your answers in the comments below.

Mini Drugstore Haul!

I recently went to Walmart and Kmart and picked up a few beauty products. I thought that I would share with you all what I got. I've been hearing a lot about the Covergirl Bombshell Mascara so I picked it up in the color black. This product has been getting so much hype that I just had to buy it and try it out for myself. I also got the Maybelline Color Elixir in the shade Blush Essence. It goes on smoothly and is very pigmented. the only downside is that it has a strange smell. It is not overbearing but it is noticeable

Since Kmart had buy one get one 50% off of Maybelline products, I got the fit me concealer in the shade 15. It seems to be a good match for me and it has pretty good coverage. I have heard Tati from GlamLifeGuru on YouTube rave about the Coty airspun powder in Translucent. I haven't got to test it out yet, but I am sure it will be fantastic! I know that this was very small haul but I hope you enjoyed.

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Review

A few months ago I started seeing pictures on Pinterest of a Maybelline product called the Baby Skin Pore Eraser. At the time I thought it was a "prank" product because I had not heard anyone talk about it and I didn't see it in any stores. Needless to say I was pretty shocked when I walked in Wal-Mart last week and saw this product on the shelf! Of course I snatched it up and took it straight home to test it out.

Before I get into the actual review I just want to explain what this product claims to do. The Pore Eraser is supposed to give you a poreless smooth skin by visibly blurring the pores. I was really hoping that this product would take the place of Benefits Porefessional(which I adore by the way). Sadly, it does not.

The Pore Eraser feels a lot like the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. It did not really do much for my pores. I felt like they were as big and noticeable as they always are. I am going to continue playing around with the product, but as of right now I am not loving it. Just remember that this is my own personal opinion and you may have a completely different experience with the Pore Eraser. I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on this product so feel free to leave a comment and have a wonderful day!
